Look Back At San Francisco Auto Show

Our good friend Ali Arsham at Gogogear.com who runs the number 33 Hyundai Genesis in NASA’s USTCC series brought both the Genesis and the USTCC Kia Optima pacecar featuring 18” Konig Backbone wheels to the San Francisco International Auto Show back in November.  As you may have seen on here before the Genesis Coupe is running Konig Kilograms in 18″.  The race cars received excellent feedback from the audience.

The showing gained interest from men and woman alike; that is, men and woman interested in race cars. The show was sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle and AutoTrader.com. This gave some of the larger manufactures a chance to show off their latest and greatest. At the event there was a booth setup for “Ride and Drive” which hosted such manufactures as GM, Nissan and Scion. This allowed the spectators to sign up and drive the cars around under a normal setting. In the past Chevy had something similar; “Rev it Up” allowed the drivers to put the cars through 1000ft drag stretch, autocross course and other exciting transitions to get the car loose and leave you smiling the whole time. While this was not nearly as exciting, this was something that 99.999% of the people who were at the show were interested in. How does the car drive on the road everyday and is this the car for me? This gave the spectators the opportunity to drive the car around under supervision with a representative from each company. This allowed the potential buyers the ability to ask questions and get answers on the fly. Traction control remained on so clipping perfect apexes was unavailable during the 15 minute session. The spectators loved the Hyundai Genesis Coupe so much that they even posted a picture of it on the SF Auto Show website.

At the show they had a display set up that let spectators view the USTCC race cars and were given the opportunity to get information about USTCC series. Having the vehicles displayed sparked interest as to both the beautiful Konig wheels that were displayed on the race cars but also gained interested in the sport.  People were grabbing the Konig information pamphlets faster than they could be replaced.

We can’t thank all of the members of USTCC enough especially the wonderful people of team Gogogear.com racing!

Forza Motorsport 4: GoGoGear Hyundai Genesis

KÖNIG is really excited to see another one of our sponsored vehicles in Forza Motorsport 4.

New to the Forza Motorsport 4 platform is the GoGoGear.com Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The GoGoGear Hyundai Genesis utilizes KÖNIG Kilograms on the track, and were certainly well rendered on the car in Forza Motorsport.

Check out some of the studio shots below as well as instructions on how to pick up the car in Forza Motorsport 4.

The GoGoGear Hyundai Genesis can be downloaded from the Xbox 360 Storefront by searching “ali arsham – ustcc”. A tune is also available for this car.

Attention New York City: Have you seen this vehicle?

We are always getting some really cool stuff shared by our fans and friends. Ali Arsham is no exception. Mr. Arsham runs GoGoGear.com. GoGoGear specializes in Custom Graphics, Apparel and Promotional Products. Ali Arsham has been racing for 22 years. He is also a fabricator and one of his more recent builds was the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. If you follow our blog, then you know the exposure this car has received since it was debuted. The car has traveled to various Auto Shows and Events across the country. However, this Genesis Coupe is by no means just a sweet race-built show car. On May 22nd, 2012 at Thunderhills Raceway in Willows California it shared 3rd place in the 2nd round of the Nitto Tires United States Touring Car Championship (USTCC).

Ali and the GoGoGear team just shared this image of the Genesis Coupe in action on the big screen in Times Square, New York, NY. This is certainly exciting for KONIG Wheels, GoGoGear and the USTCC. Check out the image below. Let us know in the comment section if you were walking down 7th Avenue in Times Square and saw this on the screen!

Our friends over at GoGoGear Attended the 2012 Philly Auto Show to show off their Kia Optima Hybrid Pace Car. The car made it’s debut at the 2011 SEMA show, and the 2011 San Francisco Auto Show, which you can see our blog Here. If you didn’t know, Kia is now the official safety car of USTCC.

GoGoGear chose to run the lightweight KÖNIG Backbone They applied a light neon green stripe to match other cool styling cues of the Optima.

The 2012 Philadelphia Auto Show was sponsored by AutoTrader , PHL17 and powered by City Voter.

Be sure to stay tuned as we post more coverage of the Kia Optima Hybrid Pace Car throughout the year.

San Francisco Auto Show 2011

Our great friends over at GoGoGear attended the 54th Annual San Francisco Auto International Auto Show this year and it proved a great success.

They showcased a bevy of USTCC race cars including their Hyundai Genesis Coupe, which sports a set of KÖNIG Kilograms which are well known for their performance inspired appeal, light weight and durable construction. Many people were very interested in the display, and it looks like GoGoGear earned quite a number of new fans this year. People were also excited to hear the news that the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) is approaching and they will be an opening act.

Kia is now the official safety car of USTCC. The Kia Soul was used prior to this, however, with the arrival of WTCC there was a need for a flashier car. Beginning in 2012, the USTCC will utilize the Kia Optima Hybrid to pace the track. Another light weight offering from KÖNIG wheels, the Backbone were chosen for the build and custom painted with a green accent line to compliment the custom paint. The car was debuted at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in November. The car was placed on the center stage at the San Francisco Auto Show and positioned direct to the main entrance and headlined the Kia booth.

The San Francisco International Auto Show is sponsored by AutoTrader and also the San Francisco Chronicle (The largest Bay Area daily newspaper) KGO TV Channel 7 also had coverage of the show.
